Just writing that subject made me think of that episode of Sex & The City where Samantha finds out she has breast cancer and goes to the “hot” New York oncologist (Dr. McAndrew, who really exists) and in a desperate attempt to get an appointment, she starts running through all the breast cancer benefits she’s been too… “And then so-and-so from the Dance for the Cure benefit told me…”
At any rate, I’ve been really busy lately, and my giveaway is still open to entries (it closes on October 12th, so if you like winning stuff, check it out!! There’s still plenty of time! And the prizes are mostly PINK- how appropriate!). So no new baked goods to share as of yet. But we’re two days into October now, and, as you know if you’re a frequent reader, my mom is a breast cancer survivor (3 years!), so this month and this cause has a special meaning to me. This post is going to be about the awesome cupcakes that I’ve heard about or seen that the purchase of which benefit breast cancer charities. In case you live under a rock, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. For the entire month, Cupcake Rehab will wear a pink ribbon on this website as well as the Facebook, MySpace and Twitter pages!
First off we have Crumbs Bake Shop’s CRUMBS for the CURE Pink Ribbon cupcake. From October 1-15th they will be available for $3.75 (in-store AND online!) and $1 per cupcake sold will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund (www.stopbreastcancer.org).

….
Next up is Retro Bakery in Las Vegas. From October 12-17th all their cupcakes will be dressed in pink to support breast cancer research and 10% of their total weekly sales will go to the Susan G. Komen FOR THE CURE Foundation!

…..
And finally we have Bangerang Bake Shop in Illinois’ Cupcake For The Cure; a golden cupcake made with Madagascar vanilla layered with a blush-pink buttercream and sprinkled with pink ribbon sprinkles. For $6.50 each, 15% percent of each of these cakes also go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

…..
If you can, order these online or visit these bakeries and support not only these bake shops, but also the breast cancer research foundations that are trying so hard and working so diligently to find a cure. If you know of any other bakeries with cupcakes for sale benefitting breast cancer research, please e·mail me and I’ll gladly edit this post (please include photos and all applicable pricing and availability information!).
And don’t forget, ladies… feel those boobies!
