The one I had was a blueberry chiffon cake (and i'm sure they added blue food coloring) with white chocolate cream cheese frosting -- and the frosting had fresh blueberries folded into it. It was heaven.

I was thinking of making it because I looked into it and apparently it's just blue coloring (no flavoring) and regular vanilla buttercream... and it sounds really good.

oops....wrong blue velvet cake...the one I had was from Milk in LA. Still, it brought back a good memory and quest for a recipe, since I'm tooooooo far from Cali to get some. Hehe.

This doesn't have anything to do with the military...well, maybe in a "my husband is in the army, and we've eaten that blue velvet cake before" way...and I can tell you, that is THE BEST cake I've ever had. It has blueberries in it! This monday post just brought back a really good memory!
