Donation time: Let’s Bring ‘Em Home!

March 30, 2010

Like I said last month, on the second of every month this year, I’m going to be asking you, my loyal readers, to do something. It’s nothing that will drastically change your life in any way, or your financial situation, but it will help others. And potentially, in some cases help to save a life, or to bring people together. Which is what this month’s charity will do.

Every month in 2010, my awesometalentedsupercool friend Yoyo is donating 100% of one days’ profits in her webstore to a different charity. January was the Villalobos Rescue Center, February was the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program, March was Mollie’s Fund, and this month it’s Let’s Bring ‘Em Home at LBEH.org. Let’s Bring ‘Em Home is an organization that was brought to my attention by someone I know for a very long time (I met him last century, haha), John, and I passed on the information to Yoyo, and she picked them for April’s donation. What they do is they collect money (or frequent flyer miles) and buy tickets for soldiers so they can come home to their families for the holidays.  Hence the name, Let’s Bring ‘Em Home! A very worthy cause if you ask me. So again, what am I asking of you?

I’m asking you to buy something from TOPSTITCH on April 2nd. That’s this FRIDAY. You have about three days to prepare, and then once Friday comes, you have a whole 24 hours to make a purchase. It doesn’t have to be a big purchase… even a small $2.00 order can mean a lot to an organization that needs money to help people who need it. So go check out what TOPSTITCH has to offer and then on Friday, go back and buy something! Yoyo will be adding a LOT more items to her store by then as well (including a new item- key fobs!). I definitely have been making my contributions each month. So should you. She has plenty of affordable items, and they’re all one-of-a-kind and well made. So please think about contributing to this cause and in return getting an awesome handmade item!

And don’t just shop at TOPSTITCH today, shop there everyday.

  1. I was wondering if you ever considered changing the layout of
your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so
people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or two pictures.

Maybe you could space it out better?

  2. If you’re still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you’ll know which is right for you.

  3. I am not sure where you’re getting your info, but great topic.
I needs to spend some time learning more or understanding more.
Thanks for great info I was looking for this info for my mission.

  4. Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied
on the video to make your point. You obviously know what youre
talking about, why throw away your intelligence on just posting
videos to your weblog when you could be giving us something informative to
    read?

  5. It is in point of fact a nice and helpful piece of info.

I’m glad that you shared this helpful info with us.
Please stay us informed like this. Thanks for sharing.
