Donation time: Green Beans Coffee.

June 1, 2010

Like I said last month, and the month before, and the months before that, on the second of every month this year, I’m going to be asking you, my loyal readers, to do something. It’s nothing that will drastically change your life in any way, or your financial situation, but it will help others. And potentially, in some cases help to save a life, to bring people together, or to provide soldiers with things that will comfort them in war zones. Which is what this month’s charity will do.

Every month in 2010, as you can see here, my GENEROUS & BIG HEARTED friend Yoyo is donating 100% of one days’ profits in her webstore to a different charity. January was the Villalobos Rescue Center, February was the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program, March was Mollie’s Fund, April was Let’s Bring ‘Em Home at LBEH.org and May Soldier’s Angels. And through doing this every month, Yoyo has raised $313.00 total for the above mention charities. Let’s keep it going. This month it’s Green Beans Coffee. What is Green Beans Coffee, exactly?

Green Beans Coffee Company got its start with, and has a unique dedication to, the troops of the United States military. Within our cafes at home and around the world, Green Beans Coffee offers the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces the highest quality coffee and tea beverages in an inviting environment where soldiers, airmen, sailors and marines can relax and feel at home.

U.S. Army personnel at nearby Eskan Village caught word about the new coffeehouse, and soon after, invited Jason to open a cafe on the US Army base. Within months of operating at Eskan Village, the Air Force extended an invitation for a further 3 locations at the Prince Sultan Air Base, in Al-Kharj KSA.

Today, Green Beans Coffee Company serves military personnel in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Qatar, Djibouti, Africa and domestically at military bases across North America. The company has not only grown in locations, but also in its mission to support our men and women in uniform.

Our twelve-year heritage of supporting those that put their lives at stake in service to our country is firmly rooted and non-negotiable. That tradition of caring is the foundation of our operating philosophy and carries over in our commitment of giving back on a national level, where a portion of every sale is donated to charities like TAPS and Soldiers Angels that strive to improve the life for disabled armed services members, military families and their children.

So again, what am I asking of you?

I’m asking you to buy something from TOPSTITCH on June 2nd. That’s TOMORROW. You have one whole day to prepare, and then once it’s actually June 2nd, you have a whole 24 hours to make a purchase. It doesn’t have to be a big purchase… even a small $2.00 order can mean a lot to an organization that needs money to help people who need it. So go check out what TOPSTITCH has to offer and then tomorrow, don’t forget to go back and buy something! Recently Yoyo has added a ton of new merchandise to her store- pouches, mini-pouches, key fobs, wristlets, APRONS, even catnip toys for your kitty! Everything is very well made and even better, made with love. The bigger pouches are great for carrying your makeup in your bag everyday or for using as a small purse to just run to the store with, and the smaller pouches are the perfect size for personal items & “unmentionables.” Although the small ones can also fit a camera or iPod too. I definitely have been making my contributions each month. So should you. She has plenty of affordable items, and they’re all one-of-a-kind and well made. So please think about contributing to this cause and in return getting an awesome handmade item! What could be better than helping people and getting something unique in return?

And don’t just shop at TOPSTITCH today, shop there everyday.
