Cupcake Rehab’s passport- stamped again!

November 16, 2008

Its time, everyone.

Time for what, you say?

Its time for another round of …Cupcake Rehab International!

For those of you unfamiliar with that phenomenon, I’ll sum it up quickly. It all started back in April of 2008. I was so amazed at the variety of countries that were visible in my sitemeter web tracker, and so fascinated at the amount of people from all over the world that were visiting me, I decided to make a post about it. That post was soon considered part one as it sort of became a tradition for me to make these posts, and since then I’ve done 5 in all. Part 2, part 3, part 4 and part 5 all include comments from people from all over the globe saying hello from their respective countries. I think its a great way to “meet” some of my readers and with that said… here is Cupcake Rehab International: Part 6!

This time I only had four new countries: Greece- home of feta cheese and the Acropolis among many other things, Thailand- the “Land of Smiles,” as they say, Trinidad & Tobago, aka “The Jewel of the Carribbean” and Bosnia and Herzegovina, famous home of the 1984 Sarajevo Olympics. So “Geia sou”, “Sawatdi ka”, “Hello” and “Zdravo” to my new visitors!

I’ll start with the U.S., my home turf, since it was last on my list last time. Places are separated by semi-colons. They are in no particular order! And if I misspell something feel free to correct me, I copy and paste these directly from sitemeter, but nobody’s perfect. And if you decide to be boring, not play along and not to read all of this, at least please scroll down to the bottom and read my announcement about comments. Okay, lets go…

And now… *drumroll* funny/weird/disturbing searches that have lead people here:

  • how to make cupcakes that look like boobs (the really funny thing is I’ve never done that, nor said how to do that… so… hmm)
  • homemade rootbeer tastes like vinegar (Well now- thats appetizing)
  • paralyzed police officers (I know why they got here, but more importantly, why were they searching for this? And better yet, there were three different searches referencing this same thing)
  • punk housewares blog
  • BOOBS ON CUPCAKES (wow.. STOP YELLING, DUDE! I DON’T HAVE BOOBS ON CUPCAKES HERE!)
  • cupcake doha (I know Doha is a place, if you look above you’ll see that.. but I’m sorry I can’t help them!)
  • cup cake microwave
  • easy christmas cupcakes (as opposed to all those really complex Christmas cupcakes that are out there)
  • book bakingwise
  • handmade hot chocolate packages
  • cupcake recipe using cake mix (I don’t really know what to make of this, I mean I’m fairly certain they wanted an Anne Byrn type recipe but then again, on the back of cake mix boxes there are clearly instructions on making cupcakes, so…)
  • Cupcake sweaters
  • macintosh apples flour sugar butter (Hmm.. sounds like they’ve got a recipe already, what exactly did they need me for?)
  • macaroni and cheese cup cake (They definitely were looking for Bake & Destroy with this one, don’t know how they got here!)
  • Mug Cup Cake! baking cocoa milk egg (they were very excited about the Mug Cup Cake! Weren’t they!!!)
  • cupcake sandwich (whoa… whats that!?!?)
  • rehab cookie
  • self saucing sponges microwave in a bowl
  • jonathan apgar (k I had no idea who he even was until I googled him and realized that I’d mentioned him when I copied an article months ago… weird!)

And as usual, my number one search that leads people here is “chocolate mug cake.” I never knew when I posted that recipe that it would be my claim to fame, haha. Although “cupcakes with boobs” is also a big one lately. Why does anyone want a cupcake with boobs on it? I mean, cupcakes that look like boobs, okay. But cupcakes with boobs on them is a disturbing thought.

I won’t be doing another one of these until after the new year. So in case you missed the last ones and aren’t around for the future ones- I’ll say it again: THANK YOU ALL for coming here and reading everything I write! I appreciate it so much. Without all of you, I’d be typing to myself and it wouldn’t be nearly as fun!

*** By the way: I’ve been having some trouble with my comments. It seems my spam filter went wonky and some comments were accidentally deleted (by me, admittedly) that were not spam! I downloaded and installed a new plugin called Bad Behavior that should help prevent this from happening again, and also prevent me from being bombarded by spam but in the meantime… I feel really bad, so if you come here and notice your comments are gone- its not me! It was a total mistake. 🙁 Please replace them! It’d be nice if you left me tons of comments and made me feel better about this.

And I promise you- I’ll be back soon with an actual recipe!!

  6. The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

  7. I seriously love your website.. Very nice colors & theme.
